$295mln approved for sub-project of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway
Sub-project within first phase of key road link.

The Ministry of Transport has approved investment of nearly VND7 trillion ($295 million) for the second sub-project within the first phase of construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway in Vietnam’s south.
The sub-project stretches 18.2 km from Dong Nai province to Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Investment will come from the State budget and total nearly VND7 trillion ($295 million), with some VND2.1 trillion ($88 million) to be used for site clearance compensation and relocation.
Construction of the second sub-project within the first phase of the expressway is expected to be completed by 2025.
The first phase includes four lanes, except for the segment between the expressway and the Ho Chi City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressways, which will have six lanes.
The entire Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway is scheduled to be put into operation by 2026.
It is being built to ease congestion along National Highway No. 51 and will be around 53.7 km in length.
The speed limit will be 100 km/h and it will be built under the public-private partnership (PPP) model and build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.
It will run parallel to National Highway No. 51 and cut through the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressways.
The project will add to the traffic infrastructure needed to fully utilize Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port and the future Long Thanh International Airport.
