Legal obstacles for social housing projects in HCM City to be removed
The southern city targets to develop 93,000 social houses by 2030.
The Construction Department of Ho Chi Minh City will focus on completing legal procedures for 37 housing projects with 35,000 units to accelerate their construction.
This is part of measures to be taken by the department to tackle legal difficulties and obstacles facing real estate projects in the southern city.
As part of at least 1 million social houses to be built for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks, under the Government program, the city plans to develop 69,700-93,000 social houses in the 2021-2030 period.
The city has since 2021 put into operation 3 social housing projects with 865 apartments.
Currently, six housing projects are under construction, including five social housing projects which will provide 3,714 apartments for low-income earners and one project supplying 1,040 apartments for workers.
In the 2016-2020 periods, the city had completed and put into operation 19 social housing projects with 14,954 apartments.
