The Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee met recently with relevant departments and the Bien Hoa City People’s Committee on the implementation of a project to convert the Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into the Bien Hoa 1 urban, commercial, and service area.

According to Mr. Ho Van Ha, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Planning and Investment, authorities must advise on setting up procedures for approving the investment policy in order to prepare bidding documents for selection of a project investor. The Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Construction, and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will take responsibility for advising on the process.

Emphasizing the project’s importance, Mr. Cao Tien Dung, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, said that the change in function is one of the southern province’s key projects, so authorities must accelerate progress.

The Provincial People’s Committee has been working with foreign businesses at Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, all of whom have agreed to move production elsewhere. It therefore issued a decision that the end of 2022 will be the deadline for all businesses at the industrial park to relocate.

Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh said it is necessary to include the conversion on the list of key projects for the province in the 2021-2025 period.
