1H trade turnover hits over $368 bln
Vietnam posting a trade surplus of $11.63 billion in the period.
Vietnam posted a total trade value of $368.53 billion in the first six months of the year, up 15.7% year-on-year, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported on June 29.
Of which, export revenue was estimated at $190.08 billion, a year-on-year surge of 14.5%.
Meanwhile, import turnover totaled $178.45 billion, soaring 17% compared to the same period last year.
This resulted in a trade surplus of $11.63 billion in the six-month period.
Twenty-nine products recorded export revenue in excess of $1 billion, accounting for 91.4% of the country’s total. Seven posted turnover of over $5 billion, or 65.6% of the total.
The US remained Vietnam’s largest export market in the first half of 2024, with total turnover of $54.3 billion, while China was its largest import source, with $67 billion.
