Mekong Delta province’s master plan for 2021-2030 approved by Prime Minister.
The Mekong Delta’s An Giang province is to develop into a trade exchange center with Cambodia and ASEAN member countries by 2050.
This is part of targets set by the province’s master plan in 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister.
The province will strive to become a developed locality in the Mekong Delta region by 2030 and a research center for breeding development and high-technology agriculture, fisheries, and herbal medicine production.
It also targets becoming a regional center for ecotourism.
The province will have 27 urban areas by 2030.
It sets a goal of posting average annual GRDP growth of 7 per cent in the period.
To fulfill its targets, the province will implement breakthroughs in policies and mechanisms to attract resources and investors in fields such as high-tech agriculture, food processing, services, tourism, logistics, and digital transformation.
It will promote administrative reform, improve its investment and business environment, enhance the application of science and technology, and develop high-quality human resources.
