Chairman of A.P. Moller Holding (APM Holding) and Chairman of Maersk - the shipping arm of APM Holding, Robert Maersk Uggla, has expressed desire to build large-scale deep-water container ports and strategic logistics projects in Vietnam, the Government News has reported.

APM Holding is a global business and investment group from Denmark renowned for its operations in logistics, renewable energy, finance, banking, and consumer products.

During a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on September 23, Mr. Uggla stressed that the group sees many opportunities and potential in Vietnam.

PM Chinh welcomed APM Holding’s plans to expand investment in Vietnam, particularly in green and smart port systems, logistics services, and green maritime transport.

He proposed the group to explore specific investment projects, such as Lien Chieu port in Da Nang and Can Gio international port in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam is ready with all possible support for foreign investors in logistics projects, the PM said, noting that Vietnam has over 3,260 km of coastline and ranks among the world's top 20 economies in terms of international trade volume.
