Construction of North - South Expressway’s major bidding packages to start soon

The Ministry of Transport will kick off construction of 12 bidding packages for 12 component projects of the North - South Expressway in the 2021-2025 period before December 31.

It made the announcement after choosing suitable contractors.

The North - South Expressway Project in the 2021-2025 period consists of 12 component projects with a total length of 723.7 km along the main route, including Ha Tinh - Quang Tri (260.9 km), Quang Ngai - Nha Trang (352.06 km) and Can Tho - Ca Mau (110.9 km).

Preliminary total investment is nearly VND147 trillion ($6.24 billion).

The projects are expected to be completed in 2025 and put into operation in 2026.

Vietnam targets completing 3,000 km of expressways by 2025.
