Phase 2 of Hanoi’s Vinh Tuy Bridge completed

The main segment of the second phase of Vinh Tuy Bridge 2 spanning the Red River in Hanoi was connected on May 30 after more than two years of construction.

Vinh Tuy Bridge 2, which runs parallel to Vinh Tuy Bridge 1, the first phase, has a total length of over 3.4 km, including approach roads.

Total investment is estimated at over VND2.5 trillion ($105 million), sourced from the city’s budget.

Vinh Tuy Bridge 1 and 2 have eight lanes, including four motor car lanes, two bus lanes, and two lanes for rudimentary vehicles.

The project management board and contractors will strive to complete remaining works to put the bridge into operation before September 2.
