Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved a project on sustainable infrastructure and urban development in northern mountainous Lao Cai province with loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The project is aimed at improving infrastructure and urban connectivity for local sustainable development.

It has total investment of $111.2 million, including $75 million in loans and $3 million in non-refundable aid from the ADB.

The project consists of three sub-projects. The first will upgrade the Sa Pa - Sau Chua - Hau Thao route in Sa Pa town and upgrade infrastructure in the Bac Ha urban area.

The second will improve provincial connectivity by upgrading local roads, while the third will provide technical support and help local people generate sustainable incomes.
