Thailand’s largest private energy development group, Gulf, is interested in investing in north-central Thanh Hoa province in the fields of renewable energy, liquefied petroleum gas, and technical infrastructure, according to Director General of Gulf Vietnam Panawit Sidejchayabhon.

At a meeting with provincial authorities on August 16, Mr. Sidejchayabhon said he wants to coordinate with the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the Management Board of the Nghi Son Economic Zone, and other local industrial parks to study and assess the possibility of projects in specific fields.

He spoke highly of the potential of Nghi Son Seaport, which he said is favorable for large vessels to transport materials to serve the construction and operation of investment projects.

Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thi said the development of renewable energies and liquefied petroleum gas are among the investment priorities for the province.

He expects that the Gulf Group will soon carry out projects in Thanh Hoa and the province will create favorable conditions for the group to operate.

Thanh Hoa is also attracting investment in other fields of strength, such as agriculture, seafood, manufacturing, support industries, tourism, human resources training, healthcare, and infrastructure for industrial zones, Mr. Thi added.

Gulf has over 35 projects operating or under construction in many countries around the world.
