Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Laos reached $780 million in the first five months of the year, up 11% compared to the same period of 2023.

The information was revealed during talks held between Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and visiting Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith in Hanoi on July 5, the Government News has reported.

Lao Deputy PM Kommasith is on a working visit to Vietnam as head of Laos’ central steering committee for trade and transport facilitation.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to take measures to boost key pillars of bilateral cooperation, and tackle obstacles to accelerate the implementation of key projects such as Vung Ang Terminals 1, 2 and 3, along with road and railway transport
