Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) will support the strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea and further strengthen trade cooperation between the two countries in the time to come, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue told the Vietnam - South Korea Business Forum, which was held on December 13 within the framework of his official visit to South Korea.

He affirmed that South Korea is one of Vietnam’s most important partners and that Vietnam is also a very important partner of South Korea in trade. The two are striving to reach the milestone of $100 billion in trade by 2023 and $150 billion by 2030. “Over the next 30 years, the two countries hope to post even better results for the benefit of the business communities and to bring prosperity to the people of each country,” NA Chairman Hue said.

Relations between Vietnam and South Korea are developing well, in which economics, trade, and cultural exchanges are developing solidly, said the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Park Byung Seok. In the global economic chain and the global commodity exchange chain, the relationship between Vietnam and South Korea plays a very important role, contributing to the deepening and sustainable development of the two countries’ relations.

NA Chairman Hue also met with leading South Korean corporations and enterprises during the visit, including Samsung Electronics, SK, and Hanwha Energy, where he suggested they increase their investment in fields of potential in Vietnam while helping Vietnamese enterprises improve their production capacity and participate in the global supply chain.
