Ba Ria-Vung Tau to extend expressway

Southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province plans to invest nearly VND2 trillion ($81.6 million) in extending the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway to the gateway of Vung Tau city.

The extension will total nearly 3 km, with a speed limit of 80 kph.

Construction is scheduled for the 2024-2028 period.

Once in operation, the extension will help boost urban development along the route and contribute to attracting investment in key projects in the region.

It will also help shorten travel time between the province and Ho Chi Minh City by 50 minutes and link up with the coastal road to and from south-central Binh Thuan province to create a complete transport network.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway connects Ba Ria-Vung Tau with neighboring Dong Nai province and has a total length of nearly 54 km, with three sub-projects. Total investment is estimated at VND18 trillion ($734 million).
