Construction of $114.9m-bamboo processing plant starts in Thanh Hoa
It has annual capacity of 225,000 cu.m of chipboard panels and OSB plywood.
Construction of a bamboo processing factory kicked off in central Thanh Hoa province on May 13 with an estimated investment capital of VND3 trillion ($114.9 million).
The staBOO Thanh Hoa OSB Bamboo Board Manufacturing plant will cover over 26ha in Ba Thuoc district.
It has an annual capacity of 225,000 cubic meters of chipboard panels and OSB plywood, with the input of some 1,000 tons of bamboo daily.
The project is invested by staBOO Holdings AG, under Swiss firm BARD AG.
Thanh Hoa has the largest area of bamboo cultivation in the country, covering over 78,000ha with an estimated output of 1.6 million tons of materials.
