Da Nang proves to be a digital pioneer in Vietnam
Da Nang boasts a 95% rate of fully online public services, significantly surpassing the national average of 55%.
Da Nang city has emerged as a leader in digital transformation in Vietnam. The city's information technology industry is thriving, with revenue growing at an average rate of 10-15% per year and software exports increasing by 15% annually.
According to Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh, the central city boasts a 95% rate of fully online public services, significantly surpassing the national average of 55%. Its digital economy accounts for 20.69% of GRDP, exceeding the 2025 target.
The city has also been recognized for its innovative digital solutions and has been selected as a pilot model for nationwide replication.
To achieve these remarkable results, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications has prioritized human resource development, infrastructure upgrades, and data management, said Mr. Thanh.
The city has implemented a Smart City Development Project and a Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Development Project, aligning with the national digital transformation strategy.
Da Nang has invested significantly in upgrading and expanding its urban network and data center infrastructure to support the demands of a smart city.
The city has established shared databases that connect with national databases and has developed an urban spatial GIS database, a digital administrative procedure results repository, and specialized databases. These databases collectively provide nearly 1,200 open data sets that residents and businesses can access and utilize to create value.
