Domestic gold prices keep upward trend

The selling price of SJC-branded gold bars in the domestic market jumped by VND800,000 ($30.5) per tael on July 1 compared to the previous day, marking a highest increase since mid-June.

The gold bars were sold at VND120.3 million ($4,591) per tael.

One tael equals 37.5 grams, or 1.2 ounces.

Meanwhile, the selling price of gold rings rose by VND500,000 ($19) to VND116.5 million ($4,446) per tael compared to the previous day.

In the global market, the gold prices rose by nearly 0.6%  to $3,322 an ounce. At this level, gold prices in Vietnam stand at around VND13.84 million ($528) a tael higher than the global price.
