Exports of wood and wood products earn $9.36 bln in 7M
Key export markets including the US, China, Japan, EU and South Korea.
Vietnam earned over $9.36 billion from exports of wood and wood products in the first seven months of the year, growing 20.5% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Meanwhile, the country imported $1.5 billion worth of wood and wood products, up 22.3% year-on-year.
Accordingly, the industry posted a trade surplus of $7.86 billion in the seven-month period.
Exports by FDI enterprises contributed $3.99 billion, soaring 22.3% compared to the same period last year, while domestic firms contributed over $5.37 billion, up 19.2%.
Regarding export markets, the US took the lead with export revenue of $5.019 billion, up 24% year-on-year, followed by China with $1.22 billion, Japan $949 million, the EU $555 million and South Korea $472 million.
