Green and Clean Energy towards Net Zero forum opens
The event hosted by Vneconomy / Vietnam Economic Times and the Department of Climate Change.
International and domestic experts are sharing experiences and recommendations for energy transition in Vietnam at a livestreamed seminar hosted by Vneconomy / Vietnam Economic Times and the Department of Climate Change under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on July 11.
The Green and Clean Energy towards Net Zero forum on Prospect of New Energy Development, is aimed at reviewing trends and experience in energy transition and development of green and clean energy sources of countries worldwide to serve as a reference for Vietnam, contributing to fulfilling the country’s development goals and commitment to net zero emissions.
The seminar will focus on discussing the implementation of the Politburo Resolution No. 55 on strategic direction for national energy development by 2030, with a vision to 2045; analyzing the energy transition process of Vietnam; and the plan to implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) to promote Vietnam's energy transition.
Participants also discuss difficulties and challenges in ensuring energy security and clean energy transition as well as development of new energy sources for Vietnam.
They will also discuss trends in using LNG in the world and Vietnam; the implementation of policies to attract investment in clean energy in Vietnam; potential and challenges in developing renewable energies; and solutions to develop energy in Vietnam in the coming time.
