Japan remains the biggest foreign investor in Central Vietnam's Da Nang city with 261 projects worth over $1.14 billion in total, according to Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee.

Addressing the “Meet Japan: Advancing the Vietnam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” conference hèo in Da Nang ơn July 4, Ms Thi added that Japan is also the largest foreign investor in the city’s hi-tech park and industrial zones, with 49 projects worth a total of $695.9 million.

Japan is also a traditional and key source market of Da Nang’s tourism industry. Last year, over 179,000 Japanese tourists visited Da Nang, tripling the figure of 2023.

Da Nang considers Japan as one of top strategic partners in international integration, particularly in the fields of smart city, high technology, semiconductor, tourism, education and training, healthcare, and human resources development, according to Ms Thi.
