Kien Giang envisioned to become national marine economic hub
Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha approving a plan to implement the provincial planning for 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has approved a plan to implement the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang province’s planning for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050.
Under the planning, Kien Giang province is expected to develop into a national marine economic hub by 2030 and a strong national marine economic hub by 2050.
It is targeted that the province will maintain gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 7% annually in the 2021-2030 period.
Under planning, Kien Giang will establish the Rach Gia Coastal Economic Zone and the Kien Giang Provincial Border Gate Economic Zone in the post-2030 period.
Relevant ministries, agencies and local authorities were instructed to build roadmaps to implement projects effectively to fulfill targets and tasks set by the planning.
They were required to review, adjust and establish rural and urban planning and other technical and specialized planning in the province to ensure they fall in line with the provincial planning.
