Long An sets 2024 growth target of 8%

The Mekong Delta’s Long An province will work to post economic growth of 8-8.5 per cent in 2024, according to provincial authorities.

This is part of socio-economic development targets set by the Long An Provincial People’s Committee for the new year.

It recorded GRDP growth of 5.77 per cent in 2023, higher than the national average of just over 5 per cent.

Industry and construction accounted for 51.34 per cent, services 27.23 per cent, and agriculture, forestry and fisheries 15.27 per cent.

To fulfill the targets set for 2024, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc asked relevant departments and agencies to take measures to address remaining shortcomings and raise the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI), the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), and Public Administration Reform Index (PAR).

Long An will also focus on accelerating the implementation of key projects, he said.
