Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed the power sector to continue having breakthrough projects to prevent electricity shortage while contributing to the modernization and industrialization process of the country.

He made the direction while chairing a conference held on December 8 to review the investment and construction of the 500 kV national power transmission line, circuit 3, linking Quang Trach in central Quang Binh province and Pho Noi northern Hung Yen province.

The 500 kV national power transmission line, circuit 3, which spans 519 km across nine provinces, from Quang Trach district in central Quang Binh province to Pho Noi in northern Hung Yen province, and was operational on late August 27, was officially inaugurated on August 29.

The project has been invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation at the total cost of over VND22.3 trillion ($878.4 million).
