PM calls on Phu Yen province to further develop tourism
Phu Yen holds advantages in terms of geographic location, convenient transport, a long coastline and deep seas, and rich minerals.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has suggested that the south-central province of Phu Yen make tourism a spearhead economic sector while building infrastructure for industry and transport.
At a working session with provincial authorities on January 8, the Prime Minister urged the province to accelerate administrative reforms to improve the business and investment environment and its competitiveness.
He highlighted the province’s advantages, which include an important geographic location, convenient transport, a long coastline and deep sea, and rich minerals.
The province should turn its potential and advantages into resources for development, he said.
He also instructed the province to pay attention to harmonizing economic growth and socio-cultural development and environmental protection.
Phu Yen fulfilled 13 out of 17 annual targets in 2022, including posting 7.46 per cent gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth and exports of $236 million.
