PM Chinh emphasizes Vietnam-Laos collaboration
During his meeting with Lao counterpart on October 8, the Vietnamese Government leader reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to nurturing its special relationship with Laos.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the need for Vietnam and Laos to strengthen cooperation in digital transformation, green transition, circular economy, agriculture, hi-tech livestock farming, and food security.
During talks on October 8 with his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone upon arriving in Vientiane for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits, and related summits, the Vietnamese Government leader reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to nurturing its special relationship with Laos and advancing their cooperation.
Highlighting the robust and trustworthy nature of the Vietnam-Laos relationship, with increasingly effective economic and trade ties, closer national defence-security, and cultural and tourism exchanges, PM Chinh emphasized the importance of this meeting for discussing specific measures to implement the directives set forth by the two Politburos.
He expressed his desire for stronger collaboration between Vietnam and Laos within ASEAN to maintain unity and consensus on regional issues.
Vietnam is ready to work closely with Laos and other countries to ensure the success of the upcoming ASEAN Summit and AIPA-45, contributing to Laos's standing and ASEAN solidarity.
In response, PM Siphandone highlighted the mutual support between the two countries and assured that the Lao Government would collaborate closely with Vietnam to ensure the success of Vietnamese investment projects in Laos.
Looking ahead, both PMs agreed on the importance of closely coordinating to effectively implement high-level agreements, including the outcomes of the recent meeting between the two Politburos. They called for continuing with the exchange of delegations, bolstering national defense-security collaboration, and deepening economic connectivity.
Amid a complex and rapidly changing global landscape, both leaders underlined the enduring value of Vietnam-Laos solidarity. They agreed to continue working closely with Cambodia to develop their trilateral cooperation in a more substantive and effective manner, ensuring that it meets the practical needs of the three countries and aligns with their development priorities.
