Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underlined the need to promote domestic production and consumption and expand export markets while addressing a conference held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on February 3.

The industry and trade sector should focus on three strategic breakthroughs: institution building, infrastructure, and human resources, and three growth drivers: investment, exports, and consumption.

The government leader also emphasized the importance of digital transformation, the green economy, the circular economy, and climate change response, and urged the ministry to quickly complete four master plans on electricity, energy, minerals, and oil and gas infrastructure.

Solutions should be rolled out to recover and spur production, boost exports, and strengthen external economic relations as well as bilateral and multilateral cooperation to maintain and expand markets and maximize export potential, Prime Minister Chinh said.

This is addition to diversifying markets, products, and supply chains, along with effectively exploiting free trade agreements.
