The General Department of Taxation has set a target of removing or simplifying at least 20 per cent of existing regulations and cutting regulatory compliance costs by around 20 per cent by 2025.

The effort is part of the tax sector’s administrative reform plan for 2023.

The plan aims at accelerating administrative reform, ensuring the effective implementation of the State administrative reform master plan for the 2021-2030 period, and comprehensively carrying out tasks in institutional and administrative reform to build and develop e-government and digital government and promote digital transformation in the tax sector, contributing to socio-economic development and meeting the needs and demands of citizens and businesses, according to the department.

Existing regulations deemed unnecessary or inappropriate will be removed or simplified.

The department plans to have at least 60 per cent of administrative procedures relating to financial obligations conducted online.
