Artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) are among the most prominent technology trends in 2023 that enterprises must not ignore in accelerating business development, promoting e-commerce, and improving the customer experience and interaction.

A representative from Meta in Vietnam said that AI made a breakthrough in 2022 and has become increasingly popular. The use of AI in analyzing, arranging, accessing, and providing consultancy services based on a wide range of unstructured data will continue to grow.

Spending on AI systems in the Asia-Pacific region is forecast to increase from $17.6 billion in 2022 to $32 billion by 2025, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC).

Asia-Pacific spending on AR and VR technologies is also expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42.4 per cent (2021-2026) and reach $16.6 billion by 2026.

A survey on consumption attitudes and behavior carried out in 12 markets in Asia-Pacific showed that 79 per cent of online consumers surveyed in Vietnam used AR or are ready to use AR when buying products online.

Nearly 75 per cent of Vietnamese internet users use online platforms to shop for a wide range of products, from cosmetics to electronic devices, according to the White Book on Vietnamese E-Business 2022.

The number of online consumers in Vietnam is forecast to increase to 60 million.
