Vietnam to develop 20 IT parks by 2030
Parks will focus on developing IT products and services with high added value.
Vietnam will develop 16-20 concentrated information technology (IT) parks under planning for information and communications infrastructure in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, which was recently approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.
Investment in and the development of IT parks will prioritize Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Can Tho, and certain other regions with strong IT development, towards developing IT products and services with high added value.
By 2025, some 12-14 IT parks are to be developed, rising to 16-20 by 2030.
Under planning, the development of Vietnam’s IT industry will be based on AI, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT), in order to strengthen the application of digital technology in all areas of economic and social life.
Vietnam’s digital technology industry is to develop rapidly and sustainably, shifting from assembling and processing to producing “Made in Vietnam” electronic, telecommunications, and IT products and services, creating a new development space for the country.
