Techfest - Whise 2023 opens in HCMC

The National Innovation Startup Festival and Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Week 2023 (Techfest - Whise 2023) opened on November 24.

The two-day event features 200 booths displaying projects and products from innovative businesses in Vietnam and elsewhere in the region.

It also provides opportunities for development cooperation in the startup community.

Within the framework of Techfest - Whise 2023, a series of workshops discussing the development strategy of Vietnam’s economy through the development of businesses, open innovation, fostering creativity and innovation and policies of the startup ecosystem development were organized.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai said the city pays great attention to investing in and supporting businesses and startups to develop, particularly in gain access to capital sources, markets, technology, and high-quality human resources.

The city commits to investing in developing an innovative startup ecosystem and accompanies the startup community for success and sustainable development, he said.

Ho Chi Minh City ranks 114th among 1,000 cities with the most dynamic ecosystem in the world and is third in ASEAN in terms of ecosystem value, with an economic impact up to $5.22 billion, following Singapore and Jakarta.
