Vietnam Connect Forum and Golden Dragon Awards 2022 taking place

The Vietnam Connect Forum 2022 is an annual gathering based on an initiative to combine the mission and tasks of economic diplomacy and economic media to promote and improve economic efficiency and connection activities, expand cooperation, and discuss new trends around the world, helping Vietnamese localities and businesses integrate and participate in global value chains.

It also aims to promote the effectiveness of international cooperation and support, and push the implementation of development goals and international commitments, for Vietnam’s prosperous development.

The 2nd Vietnam Connect Forum is being co-hosted by Tap Chi Kinh Te Vietnam (VnEconomy) - Vietnam Economic Times and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the theme “Resource Convergence for Promoting Green Growth and Sustainable Development”. The forum will focus on strengthening connections between localities, domestic and foreign businesses, and international organizations through an open dialogue on opportunities to mobilize resources and the domestic and international experience in promoting green and sustainable growth. It will also seek to identify suitable solutions to attract green resources and green investment capital into sectors, localities, and business fields.

Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Assembly’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment, together with more than 30 leaders from southern localities, more than 30 representatives from embassies and consulates and foreign trade associations and organizations in Vietnam, international and Vietnamese economists, and more than 300 CEOs of foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) and Vietnamese enterprises will attend the forum in person, while another 5,000 will take part via VnEconomy.vn.

The Vietnam Connect Forum 2022 includes two main panel discussions:

- Introductory lectures on core issues relating to the forum topic, presented by representatives from the National Assembly’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, the leader of Ho Chi Minh City, and the General Director of McKinsey & Company;

- A direct dialogue focusing on the effective mobilization and implementation of resources for green transformation and the green growth goals set by the Vietnamese Government.

Following the Vietnam Connect Forum 2022 will be a ceremony to announce the Golden Dragon Awards 2022 winners, including the top 10 Foreign-Invested Enterprises (FIEs) in Green Growth and top 50 outstanding FIEs in Vietnam in 2021.

The Organizing Board of the 21st Golden Dragon Awards received more than 600 nominations and registrations from units to participate. Through two rounds of survey and selection, the ceremony for the Golden Dragon Awards 2022 will honor the Top 10 and Top 50 outstanding FIEs in six industry groups:

- Processing and manufacturing
- Digital technology & digital services
- Financial services and insurance
- Development of infrastructure, industrial parks, and real estate
- Education and health care
- Agriculture and food & beverages

On the sidelines of the Forum and Awards ceremony will be bilateral and multilateral meetings between localities, businesses, and representatives of diplomatic missions in Vietnam, such as embassies and consulates, as well as foreign associations such as AmCham and EuroCham.
