Vietnam exports $0.67 bln worth of animal feed and raw materials
China remaining the biggest importer.
Vietnam exported $0.67 billion worth of animal feed and raw materials in the first eight months of the year, while importing $3.32 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In the Jan-July period, exports of animal feed and raw materials earned nearly $584.18 million, down 10.5% compared to the same period last year, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
China remained the biggest importer of Vietnam’s animal feed and raw materials during the seven-month period, with $239.15 million, down 23.5% year-on-year and accounting for 40.9% of the total.
It was followed by the Southeast Asian market with over $175.76 million, down 18.1%.
However, export to the US increased 80.2% year-on-year to reach $74.87 million.
Vietnam produces on average 20 million tons of animal feed each year.
