Vietnam New Economy Forum 24 opened
The October 16 Forum, with the theme “Ushering in a new economy: A revolution in the twin digital – green transition & the pioneering role of businesses,” was co-organized by VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times and the Central Institute for Economic Management.
The Vietnam New Economy Forum 24 - the second annual edition, co-organized by VnEconomy/ Vietnam Economic Times (VET), and the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, was held in Hanoi on October 16 afternoon, under the theme “Ushering in a new economy: A revolution in the twin digital – green transition & the pioneering role of businesses.”
The event is being streamlined on the platforms of VnEconomy, including VnEconomy.vn, FanPage VnEconomy and Youtube VnEconomy.
The Forum was attended by leaders of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the National Assembly (NA)’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and many NA Deputies, domestic and international economic experts, representatives from foreign embassies and international organizations in Vietnam and business associations, and more than 300 leaders of domestic and foreign invested enterprises.
At the Forum’s panel discussion, theming “Ushering in a new economy and roles of businesses in digital and green transition,” speakers focused on dynamic practice of innovation and creativity, and application of digital technology and AI in the process of digital - green transition by businesses across various economic sectors. Many solutions, including policy and mechanism recommendations, have been identified to help businesses accelerate their digital and green transition.
The Forum was followed by a ceremony where Top 10 and Top 50 Vietnamese Excellent Brands, selected by readers of Tap Chi Kinh Te Viet Nam / VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times for 2024, were announced.
The ceremony marked the 21th anniversary of the Vietnamese Excellent Brands program, initiated since 2003 by Tap Chi Kinh Te Viet Nam / VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times to honor Vietnamese businesses which have recorded outstanding achievements, thus making notable contributions to the socio-economic development of the country;
The annual Vietnamese Excellent Brands program has become a communication, connection and gathering platform with the participation of CEOs from leading Vietnamese corporations and businesses, managers, policy makers as well as domestic and international economic experts.
The program has made significant contributions to the development of localities and the national economy as well as enhancing the cooperation among businesses. It has served as a playground for businesses to share experience in production, trade and brand development.
