The People’s Council of northern Hai Phong port city has approved the investment policy for a route in Kien An district, connecting the National Highway 5 with the National Highway 10, to facilitate cargo and passenger transportation.

The projected 7.3-km road will start from Bui Vien Street to Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway with a roadbed width of 50.5m. It will have three lanes.

As part of the project, a bridge crossing Da Do river and a four-lane tunnel through Lam Khe overpass with width of 17.2m will be built.

Total investment capital is estimated at over VND5.3 trillion ($202 million).

Construction of the project is scheduled to start in 2026 and complete in 2029.
