Nearly 156 bln kWh of electricity generated in H1

Of the total, thermal power plants account for 54.3%; hydro power plants for 23.4%; renewable energy for 13.5%, and imports for 2.1%.

Total electricity generation and import in the first six months of 2025 reached 155.79 billion kWh, contributing to ensuring electricity supply, according to the Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

In June alone, 28.2 billion kWh was generated and imported.

Of the six-month total, 84.6 billion kWh were generated from coal thermal power plants, accounting for 54.3%; 36.5 billion kWh from hydro power plants, or 23.4%; 20.98 billion kWh from renewable energy, or 13.5%, and 3.24 billion kWh from imports, or 2.1%.

During the period, construction of 80 power projects have started, while 124 others were put into operation, including important projects such as the 500kV Monsoon – Thach My transmission line, and the 220kV Huoi Quang – Nghia Lo transmission line.
