Speaking at the Ministry of Finance's (MoF) quarterly press conference on July 2, Ms. Trinh Thi Huong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Private Enterprise and Collective Economy Development (under the MoF), revealed that in June, the number of newly registered companies reached a record high of 24,422 enterprises, more than doubling the average monthly number recorded between 2021-2024.

In total, more than 91,000 new businesses were established in the first half of the year, reflecting a strong wave of entrepreneurship. Additionally, 14,390 businesses resumed operations in June, up 91 per cent year-on-year. Cumulatively, 61,000 businesses resumed operations in the first six months, marking an increase of over 57 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.

“The number of enterprises entering and re-entering the market exceeds those exiting. This indicates a strong reinforcement of business community confidence in the economic recovery and growth outlook,” Ms. Huong emphasized.

Notably, the number of newly established household businesses in June  surged significantly - rising by 118.4% compared to the same period last year and by 60.35% compared to May 2025. This figure is 2.4 times higher than the average monthly level recorded since July 2023. The amount of additional capital injected by existing businesses also increased by over 170,86%  year-on-year, further indicating growing business confidence and promising market potential.

These outcomes reflect how policies from the Party and the State have effectively translated into practice, encouraging the robust development of the private sector.

In line with new trends toward sustainable business development, the MoF will continue to push for administrative reform, advise the Government and Prime Minister on cutting and simplifying regulations related to business activities, thereby facilitating easier market entry for businesses and investors in compliance with the law.

In parallel, the Ministry aims to tighten oversight and strictly implement the requirement to assess the impact of policies and administrative procedures in legislative drafts and legal documents. It will also enhance the effectiveness of stakeholder consultations as required by the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents and promptly eliminate, within its authority, any administrative procedures that hinder business operations or public life.

To further support business activities, the ministry is advocating for the development of the green economy, circular economy, e-commerce, and new business models. It will also assist enterprises in accessing and adopting artificial intelligence, digital transformation, green transition, the creative economy, and the sharing economy. Special focus will be given to sectors such as wholesale and retail trade, manufacturing and processing, tourism and logistics.
