Vietnam Cybersecurity JSC obtains CREST certification
Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company becomes the first managed security service provider in Vietnam to obtain CREST certification for a security operations center (SOC).
On August 19, CREST, a non-profit organization in the appraisal, valuation, and recognition of standards in the provision of information security services, officially confirmed that the Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company (VSEC) had received accreditation for its security operations center (SOC) at the Externally Validated level. VSEC’s penetration testing (Pentest) service received identical accreditation last January.
VSEC therefore becomes the first managed security service provider in Vietnam to obtain both certifications, which is a significant milestone and affirms the quality and development of Vietnam’s cybersecurity industry.
To achieve certification, experts at VSEC’s SOC had to go through a rigorous evaluation process by international security experts. There were two rounds of evaluation within six months, including application and audit. VSEC met six aspects in 28 categories set by CREST: Organizational Environment, Consumer Requirements, Technology & Tools, Event Analysis, Threat Intelligence & Situational Awareness, and Protection of the SOC.
Achieving CREST certification means that VSEC has met international standards in terms of expert competence, professional experience, technological capabilities, policies, processes, procedures, and professional ethics for SOC services and Cybersecurity Assessment Services Pentest.
Mr. Truong Duc Luong, Chairman of VSEC, said that Vietnam is often considered to be weaker than other countries in process and compliance. VSEC is committed to providing the best services to customers, and achieving CREST certification is a measurement tool to help improve the comprehensive qualifications of its personnel in the field of Pentest and SOC. “We can be proud that Vietnamese people are able to meet and provide the best services under international standards,” he said
