Vietnam’s industrial production grows 8.6% in 7M
The manufacturing and processing sector continues to serve as the main engine of industrial growth.

Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index (IIP) maintained strong momentum, rising 8.6% year-on-year in the first seven months of 2025, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).
The manufacturing and processing sector, which serves as the main engine of industrial growth, expanded by 10.3%, contributing 8.5 percentage points to the overall IIP.
Electricity production and distribution rose by 4.6%, contributing 0.4 percentage points, while the water supply, waste, and wastewater management sector grew by 10.4%, adding 0.1 percentage points.
However, the mining sector declined by 2.7%, pulling the index down by 0.4 percentage points.
Several key industries recorded robust year-on-year growth, including motor vehicle production surging 29.9%; rubber and plastic products (16.9%); garment (14.5%); furniture manufacturing (10.9%); and electronic products, computers, and optical products (7.9%).
