Coteccons secures $444mln in major projects in Q1
Coteccons and its member company Unicons made a mark in the construction industry in the first quarter of the year after winning bidding packages worth a total of VND10 trillion ($444 million). Hoang Oanh reports.

A series of big names in the market, from Hoa Phat and the Charm Group to VinGroup and Novaland have chosen Coteccons as their main contractor in recent projects.
Explaining this, a representative from Coteccons said there are four unique and different values, called COTECCONS INSIDE, that have created and bolstered its prestige and brand.
Specifically, Coteccons upholds its commitment to environmental sustainability in all projects, diversifies products and services, focuses on the customer experience, and brings added value in the process of operations and business cooperation.
Specifically, following the success of the first phase, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company under the Hoa Phat Group again choose Coteccons recently as the general contractor of the second phase, package number 1 - Iron Refining Plant, at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Production Complex 2.
The project has total investment in the thousands of billions of VND, using advanced technology to produce high quality hot rolled steel coil. Construction of Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 is expected to start shortly and be completed by 2024.
The Iron Refining Plant has a 16-month implementation schedule, including 40 different large and small heavy industrial workshop items. Therefore, selecting a construction contractor is very important in ensuring project progress and quality to meet requirements and production expansion plans.
Also, at the end of 2021, Coteccons and Novaland signed a long-term cooperation agreement to build key Novaland projects in 2022-2025. The region’s largest real estate group selected Coteccons as general contractor in building several hotel projects and project clusters in the Aqua City Smart Eco-Urban Area in Bien Hoa city, southern Dong Nai province, and the Super City of Sea - Tourism - Health - NovaWorld Phan Thiet in south-central Binh Thuan province.
Coteccons also cooperates strategically with the Charm Group on a super project on Ho Tram Beach in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province worth $2 billion - a new symbol of the resort tourism industry.
“Coteccons is trusted and chosen by many huge brands, such as VinGroup, Six Senses, Ecopark, and Lancaster, and handles many super projects in the country,” said a representative from the Charm Group. “Among them is the tallest tower in the country - The Landmark 81 in Ho Chi Minh City. Choosing Coteccons is therefore a guarantee of quality and progress in Charm Group projects.”
Coteccons has also won bids on projects such as Vinhomes Grand Park, Vinhomes Dream City, and Six Senses Saigon Riverside.
“With principles that have become trademarks, such as ‘Absolutely Safe; Committed to handing over the project on time or ahead of schedule and with No.1 quality at construction sites’ for all projects, major partners are confident when choosing Coteccons as their strategic contractor,” said Mr. Vo Hoang Lam, Deputy General Director of Coteccons.

Unicons charms with world-class projects
While Coteccons’ winning bid for a series of civil and industrial projects shows the strong comeback of the No. 1 construction contractor in the country, Unicons - a member unit of Coteccons - is “charming” the market with world-class industrial factory projects.
At the beginning of this year, Unicons overcame many large domestic and international contractors to win the bid for the Thang Long - Tesa Hai Phong adhesive tape factory project belonging to a fastidious customer from Europe - Tesa.
Tesa’s products are used in intensive industrial and household applications and boast world-class quality. Therefore, construction of the factory requires that rigorous standards are met.
Construction of the Tesa Hai Phong adhesive tape factory, on an area of more than 33,000 sq m at the Deep C2B Industrial Park in the Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone in northern Hai Phong city, with Unicons as general contractor, began on January 26.

In addition to the Tesa project, Unicons is also involved in other projects, such as being the general contractor of the Canadian International School System Complex in Lao Cai city in the northern province of the same name; the Sun Group’s Kiss Bridge project on Phu Quoc Island - a new symbol in island tourism; the Fusion Hotel in central Da Nang city; and other industrial and civil projects, worth a total of thousands of billions of VND.
The value of Coteccons’ and Unicons’ bidding packages in the first quarter of 2022 totaled more than VND10 trillion ($444 million). This shows that its reputation as the No. 1 contractor in Vietnam is increasingly being consolidated. New projects don’t stop at commercial and residential real estate, but also cover industrial real estate infrastructure.
