Third scenario for North-South express railway selected
The high-speed railway link will have a maximum speed of 350 kph.
In a recent document on selecting a scenario for the projected North-South high-speed railway, sent to the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Construction agreed with Scenario 3, under which the double railway line, with a track gauge of 1,435 mm, will be designed for a maximum speed of 350 kph. Total investment is estimated at over $70 billion, and it will be dedicated to passenger transport and cargo when needed.
There will be 23 stations, five maintenance and repair facilities, five cargo stations, and an additional 28 km of railway lines to connect cargo depots.
The railway will have a total length of 1,545 km, running through 20 cities and provinces.
It will be capable of transporting 133.5 million passengers and 20 million tons of cargo each year.
