NVIDIA plans range of initiatives to develop AI in Vietnam
Human resources development is considered a key measure in development.
World-leading chip producer NVIDIA plans to implement many initiatives in Vietnam and initially promote human resources with a technology foundation to enter the world of AI, President and CEO of the US group Jensen Huang has said.
Addressing a roundtable discussion on the semiconductor industry and AI development trends and opportunities for Vietnam in Hanoi on December 11, Mr. Huang said NVIDIA wants to set up a design center in Vietnam.
“There are many Vietnamese computer scientists around the globe,” he told the roundtable. “The country also leads the world in software exports. These are foundations for Vietnam to make breakthroughs in developing a million AI engineers, turning it into an AI center with the world’s strongest human resources.”
Vietnam is prepared for the AI development wave, and it is time to set up strategic relations in these fields, he said, adding that NVIDIA will expand its existing partnership with Vietnam, making the country its second homeland.
NVIDIA stands ready to cooperate with Vietnam to improve its human resources capacity and AI infrastructure, he emphasized.
It is currently a partner of many giant businesses in Vietnam, such as Viettel, FPT, and Vingroup, earning annual revenue of $500 million.
NVIDIA is a multinational corporation specializing in the production of innovative graphics processing units (GPUs), application programming interfaces (APIs) for data science and high-performance computing, and system on chip units (SoCs) for mobile computing and the automotive market.
