Open innovation key for future development strategies
Vietnam is making strides forward in digital transformation and innovation, HCMC gathering hears.

Over 100 leading domestic and foreign experts shared experience and success stories in open innovation and digital transformation at Vietnam’s first open innovation event held recently in Ho Chi Minh City.
With the theme “Where Technology Meets Industry’, the Open Innovation Day - TechTraverse 2023 was aimed at raising awareness about open innovation and digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups as well as promoting cooperation among businesses.
As open innovation is being completed and developed by ASEAN countries to attract potential investment and talented human resources, Vietnamese enterprises that want to reach out to international markets must change their thinking and connect with each other, said Director of the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC) Pham Hong Quat.
Vietnam is making strides forward in digital transformation and innovation, with a focus on Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, he said.
Analysts in attendance discussed the challenges facing enterprises on the journey to applying digital transformation initiatives.
An IBM report reveals that 84 per cent of senior managers in enterprises agree that open innovation plays an important role in future development strategies.
