Pebsteel adopts new brand identity
After 27 years of constant development, Pebsteel asserts its lead as a brand in pre-engineering buildings and steel structures through new brand recognition and sustainable development goals for the future.

According to Global Industry Analysts, the global market for pre-engineered buildings (PEB) reached $27.1 billion in 2020 despite the Covid-19 crisis. It is projected that revenue in the market will reach $49.1 billion by 2026, for a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.1 per cent. DataM Intelligence, meanwhile, has forecast that the market will grow dramatically, posting a CAGR of up to 14 per cent in the 2021-2028 period.
The Asia-Pacific continually accounts for the largest market share, of 43 per cent in 2019, and has the highest growth rate globally. The growth driver comes from demand for large-scale infrastructure investment, industrialization, and urbanization in fast-growing economies such as Vietnam, India, and China, etc. India will spend $1.4 billion on infrastructure construction in the 2019-2023 period, and is expected to be the fastest-growing market in PEB and steel structures, with 22.45 per cent growth by 2027.
Vietnam had a record disbursement plan for public investment capital in the 2020-2021 period, reaching a new high compared to the previous three years and creating space for the PEB sector.
According to Mr. Sami Kteily, Executive Chairman and Co-founder of the PEB Steel Buildings Co., Ltd. (Pebsteel), the application of PEB is extremely high and not just limited to industrial construction works. “This kind of construction is becoming more and more popular in civil and commercial works such as office buildings, commercial centers, entertainment complexes - resorts, schools, hospitals, and stadiums, etc., with the same flexible structures and aesthetics as reinforced concrete,” he explained.
He referred to Pebsteel’s more than 6,000 PEBs and steel structures in over 50 countries and territories. Its breakthroughs include a 14-story office tower in Manila (Philippines); the highest Unilever palm oil refinery, with a height of 68 meters, in Indonesia; the largest clear span, of 128 meters, for a Lufthansa hangar in the Philippines; the longest FCB Warehouse building in Thailand, with a total length of more than 1 kilometer; and a unique curved corridor for the Okada Manila hotel and resort complex, formerly Manila Bay Resorts.
After over 27 years of observing and operating in the construction industry in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, Mr. Kteily has expressed his confidence in the stunning growth of the PEB market for years to come. In the post-Covid-19 period, construction and other industries will recover and boom significantly, contributing to potential growth in the PEB sector.
Pebsteel introduces new brand identity to get ahead of the future of PEBs
PEBs were first manufactured in the 1960s in the US, but it was not until the 1990s that they were introduced to Vietnam. Founded in 1994, Pebsteel is a pioneer in bringing this new construction technology to the country. After nearly three decades of strong development in the market, Pebsteel has launched a refreshed brand identity with a solid vision for the upcoming stages.

Mr. Kteily said that that after 27 years of constant development, Pebsteel continues to assert its place as a leading brand in PEBs and steel structures. “Through the tagline ‘Engineered Building Solutions’, Pebsteel demonstrates a strong commitment to providing the best-engineered spaces for every customer,” he added. “Pebsteel’s new logo is inspired by a PEB structure with the highlight of a parallel development symbol whereby Pebsteel aims at corporate success staying abreast of that of its clients, partners, and staff.”
Pebsteel is founded in Europe, with two Japanese stakeholders (Nippon Steel and Okaya & Co., Ltd.). Owning seven large-scale factories in Vietnam and Myanmar, Pebsteel records total production of 100,000 tons of pre-engineering steel a year and steel reserves of 15,000 tons that meet the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. Additionally, Pebsteel has more than 1,400 experienced employees, ten regional sales offices in six Southeast Asian countries, and a network of partners in 15 countries and territories in Africa and the Middle East.

As for Mr. Kteily, “change for the better” is a challenge for industries in general and for the PEB field in particular. Despite being a pioneer and industry leader in providing solutions for PEB and steel structures, Pebsteel does not stand apart from the challenges. In order to get ahead of the breakthrough growth prospects in the future, Pebsteel has released its development orientation for the 2022-2030 period through the most innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions. Pebsteel will continue to invest strongly in QRD (Quality Research & Development) and in digital transformation, empowering employees and continuing to grow its global partnership network.
