Siemens launches automation contest for Vietnamese engineers and students
“Best Applications of SIMATIC IOT2050” contest encourages local engineers and students to express their creativity in automation.
Siemens officially launched the “Best Applications of SIMATIC IOT2050” contest on August 30 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The contest presents an opportunity for automation engineers and students in Vietnam to demonstrate their talent, in particular encouraging them to use their creativity and outside-the-box thinking in order to come up with innovative ideas and solutions for the automation industry, with support from Siemens’ IOT gateway.
SIMATIC IOT2050 is designed for industrial IT solutions for the acquisition, processing, and transfer of data in the production environment. It can be used for connecting the production process to a cloud-based analysis of machine and production data. The gateway can also be retrofitted in existing plants, where it then harmonizes communications between different data sources, analyzes the data, and passes it on for evaluation to a local or cloud-based system.
It is typically used for preventive machine maintenance and linking production to the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) level in order to minimize expensive production downtimes.
By taking part in the “Best Application for SIMATIC IOT2050” contest, which is open from August 30 to November 11, candidates also have the chance to stay abreast of the latest trends in automation and digitization, to access Siemens’ state-of-the-art technology, to stay connected and expand their professional network, and, most importantly, to use their knowledge and skills to design and develop innovative applications. They will also have ample opportunities to receive attractive gifts from Siemens Digital Industries.
