An Giang exports initial batch of flat-seeded mangoes to South Korea
Mekong Delta province sends a total of 13 tons to North Asian country in first shipment.
The Mekong Delta’s An Giang province exported an initial batch of 13 tons of flat-seeded mangoes to South Korea on February 19.
The exports affirm the position the locality’s fruit holds in demanding markets, Deputy Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy told a ceremony held on the same day to announce the exports.
This is also a turning point for the local agricultural sector, helping bring about economic opportunities while bolstering the image and reputation of its agricultural products in the international market, she said.
An Giang also organized ceremonies last month to announce the export of green-peel elephant mangoes to the US and Australia.
Cho Moi district boasts over 704 ha of mango farming area under VietGAP standards, and has issued 41 planting area codes for green-peel elephant mangoes for export to China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and the US.
Vietnam earned over $370 million from mango exports in 2023, and the country’s mangoes are now exported to 40 countries and territories around the world, with key markets being China, Russia, the US, South Korea, the EU, Australia, and Japan.
