HCMC & Mekong Delta localities link in green supply chains
An exhibition showcasing high-tech agricultural products and technologies opened in the southern city on November 15.
Enterprises from Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta localities showcased their high-tech agricultural products and technologies at an exhibition on Vietnam’s green economy and sustainable development that opened in Ho Chi Minh City on November 15.
They include businesses operating in developing material zones and supplying services and solutions for green production and circular production.
The exhibition is part of the 2023 Mekong Connect Forum, being held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 15 and 16 to identify measures to link supply chains and value chains in the southern city with the 13 Mekong Delta cities and provinces towards a green and sustainable economy.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoa said green growth and sustainable development are inexorable and irreversible requirements and common global trends.
The development of Ho Chi Minh City is connected with the development of other localities, of which building green and sustainable supply chains, from farming, harvesting, storage, processing, and production to consumption, is one of the city’s key missions, he said.
The exhibition and the 2023 Mekong Connect Forum are expected to help promote connections and form contact channels between city and provincial governments and between governments and businesses, and contribute to resolving problems arising in trade activities and goods distribution between Ho Chi Minh City and cities and provinces and propose solutions.
