PM to head committee on implementing special mechanisms for HCMC
Committee to help address emerging issues during implementation.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is Head of the Steering Committee for implementing Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 on the pilot implementation of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City, following a decision signed recently by the government leader on the establishment of the committee.
Under the decision, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung are Deputy Heads.
The committee is responsible for directing ministries, departments, and agencies to organize the implementation of the coordination regulation and plans on carrying out the Resolution, proposing solutions for implementing the Resolution, promptly making reports on the difficulties and challenges, and recommending measures to resolve emerging issues.
Resolution No. 98, passed by the National Assembly on June 24, will take effect from August 1, 2023.
There are 44 mechanisms in seven fields, including investment management; State finance and budget; urban and natural resources and environment management; attracting strategic investors; science and technology management and innovation; the organizational structure of Ho Chi Minh City; and the organizational structure of Thu Duc city.
