Boeing to support Vietnam’s aerospace industry
Local aerospace industry to receive ongoing support from Boeing International Corporation, leaders tell State President during meeting.
Leaders from the Boeing International Corporation affirmed their commitment to Vietnam’s aerospace industry at a meeting held during State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to the US to attend the UN General Assembly’s 76th session.
Mr. Michael Arthur, President of the Boeing International Corporation, said Vietnam’s dynamic economy and investment in a highly-skilled workforce will help boost the country’s aerospace industry, and Boeing is committed to accompanying Vietnam on this journey.
At the meeting, State President Phuc congratulated Boeing on opening its first representative office in Vietnam. This event also demonstrates Boeing’s long-term investment commitment to Vietnam, regardless of the economic difficulties from the Covid-19 pandemic. The State President also emphasized that this is a symbol of the connection in trade - investment and transport infrastructure between the US and Vietnam in particular and within Southeast Asia in general.
He also asked Boeing to support Vietnamese airlines in opening more direct routes to the US and to boost investment in Vietnam in the fields of infrastructure and the manufacture of aircraft components. It is also necessary to support Vietnam in the supply chains of global corporations while researching the opening of a Pilot Training Center in the country.
Boeing has opened its first office in Hanoi, and will continue to invest in and support Vietnam’s aviation industry despite Covid-19 seriously affecting the country.
