Intel officially introduces 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors
Intel® Xeon® Scalable 4th Gen marks Intel’s shift to kickstart its journey back to leadership in the data center space and to set its sights on many other areas.
On July 25, Intel officially introduced the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors at Intel Solutions Day at the Hanoi National Convention Center. Through the event, Intel also delivered solutions that drive data center performance with savings, security, and new features with artificial intelligence (AI).
4th Gen Intel® Xeon® helps deliver solutions and systems with consistent performance and optimized power management to help businesses resolve computing challenges, achieve sustainability goals, and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
Built through decades of innovation and leadership in data centers and networking, 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors deliver class-leading performance with fully-integrated accelerators of any CPU in the world to resolve businesses’ most critical problems in AI, analytics, networking, security, storage, and high-performance computing.
Intel integrates additional accelerators for specific applications such as Intel® Quick Assist Technology to accelerate data encryption and compression/decompression; Intel® Dynamic Load Balancer to organize data before dispatching to processor cores; and optimizing cores and accelerators for specific applications to deliver superior performance and more power savings at a lower TCO.
Compared to previous generations, 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable provides 2.9-times more efficient performance-per-watt average on specified applications when leveraging built-in accelerators, up to 70-watt savings per CPU in optimized performance mode with minimal performance loss on certain applications, and a 52 to 66 per cent reduction in TCO.
