Vietnam, NVIDIA partner to establish AI hub, boost tech development

Vietnam and NVIDIA have signed a cooperation agreement to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) research and development center and an AI data center in the country.
The signing ceremony on December 5 was witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and NVIDIA President and CEO Jensen Huang.
PM Chinh highly appreciated NVIDIA's commitment, highlighting the strong collaborative spirit and mutual trust built between the two parties over their three meetings in the past year. He lauded Mr. Huang's leadership in making Vietnam a key focus for NVIDIA, referring to the country as a "second home".
“Our collaboration demonstrates mutual trust, sincerity and a shared vision for the future,” the Vietnamese Government leader said.
He specifically acknowledged NVIDIA’s contributions to Vietnam’s technological advancement and encouraged further collaboration in key areas, including: AI development and technology transfer; AI infrastructure development; and human resource development.
He also urged NVIDIA to collaborate on developing Vietnam's data infrastructure, cloud computing capabilities, and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, extending this partnership to even encompass space exploration and marine technology.
This collaboration, he stressed, is crucial to fostering innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit within Vietnam, ultimately driving the nation towards its vision of prosperity and happiness for its people.
PM Chinh reiterated Vietnam's commitment to providing a favorable and supportive business environment for NVIDIA, emphasizing a principle of shared risks and mutual benefits.
Mr. Huang emphasized Vietnam's strong potential in AI development, citing its existing infrastructure and skilled workforce. He expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister's vision and reiterated NVIDIA's commitment to being a long-term partner in Vietnam's development journey.
