VnEconomy / VET launches Askonomy chatbot
Chatbot accesses economic data from VnEconomy / VET as well as other reliable sources.
VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times (VET) has launched an AI chatbot called Askonomy, a trusted, comprehensive source of economic data from all VnEconomy / VET publications in the past 30 years together with other reliable sources.
Askonomy boasts reliable and official data and information sources, and has the ability to analyze and forecast economic issues based on AI. Users can ask questions such as:
- What GDP growth has Vietnam recorded over the past five years?
- How much FDI has Vietnam attracted over the past five years? Which country is currently leading in FDI to Vietnam?
- How has Vietnam’s securities market performed over the past five years?
- What forecasts can be made about the USD/VND exchange rate in 2023?
- How has Vietnam’s corporate bond market performed over the past three years?
The chatbot provides answers based on official sources published in VnEconomy / VET as well as data sources from the Economic Analysis Center at VET.
How to use Askonomy effectively
- Focus on economic data only. Askonomy contains primarily economic data so will not be able to answer questions unrelated to economics, such as politics or literature, for example.
- Be sure to use the correct economic terms, such as Consumer Price Index (CPI), Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), Index of Industrial Production (IIP), and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), etc.
- Focus on one subject, and avoid asking for different information and data with the same question.
- Please wait for an answer before continuing to your next question. Askonomy needs 30-40 seconds to answer a question.
- Please ask as specific a question as possible. For example, rather than ask “How was the socio-economic situation in Vietnam in the first quarter of 2023?”, ask about certain indicators or production and business factors in a particular sector or divide the subject into many questions. For example, separately ask about GDP growth in the first quarter of 2023, then export turnover in the first quarter of 2023, then total retail sales of goods and services in the first quarter of 2023, etc.
- It is necessary to specify the period of data being sought, and note the frequency of data updates to meet your specific requirements. For example, GDP growth is updated quarterly or annually, while the CPI and PMI are updated monthly or quarterly.
- When requesting data for a particular period, the period must be included in every question and be consistent with the latest data updates.
- In some cases, when data is missing, the question could be successfully answered at a later date.
- Askonomy does not continually update news data, such as fluctuations in gold prices, stock prices, or commodity prices, etc., throughout the day.
